Playing along with MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 52

Back this week to participate in another cardmaking challenge! This time with MFT. MFT is one of my favorite stamp companies. I love their cute animal stamps/ dies, lovely sentiments and background stencils. This week's sketch is:

 

 

I decided to use one of MFT's flower stamps that I have had for a while - Peony Perfection but never used. I first heat embossed the image in clear embossing powder. I first painted the image using my gansai tambi watercolor paints. I really want to get better at painting and I thought this would be a good opportunity to flex those painting skills. Unfortunately the image didn't quite turn out the way I thought it would (even though my daughter kept saying that it looked great 🙂). 

I ended up heat embossing the image again and then colored it with my Zig Clean color brush markers. I added some splatters on the card in white and copper. I then trimmed the image into the shapes in the sketch and then stuck the images on A2 size navy cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment in clear embossing powder and added it to the card using foam squares. Here is my card:

This is the first time I am participating in a CASE(E) this sketch and I am so excited. For folks who don't know what CAS(E) this sketch is click on this link to learn more. Basically the design team puts out a CAS (Clean And Simple) sketch  along with some examples of using the sketch in an actual card to inspire card makers. I've followed along in previous challenges and this week I decided I want to participate as well. The cue for this week's challenge is the sketch below. I made this card inspired by Christmas. I started off by first embossing the light using Altenew gold embossing powder and the MFT lights stamp. I then stamped the leaves and pine cone and the sentiment (from Wplus9). I sometimes did some second generation stamping with the leaves to give it some depth (I don't think my photography skills captured that though 😅).
